  General information

BART stands for Bay Area Rapid Transit, and is the high speed transit system serving the San Francisco & Oakland region.

Traveling between San Francisco or Oakland airports and Yosemite involves taking BART to an Amtrak station, taking Amtrak to Merced (or sometimes to Fresno), then taking Yosemite Area Regional Transit buses (YARTS) to the park, or to communities near the park. Amtrak typically requires advanced reservations although BART does not. YARTS is a separate system but cooperates with Amtrak, so that you can buy one ticket to or from a Bay Area Amtrak station and any stop along the YARTS lines.

The two primary BART-to-Amtrak connection points are the Richmond Station and the Dublin station. (A connection can be made in San Jose via CalTrain as well. Watch this site for further information, or check the CalTrain and Amtrak web sites directly.)

This web page uses data provided directly by BART for schedules, real-time departures, and alerts. Every effort has been made to keep the data correct and intact. However, the official BART web site supersedes all information provided on CarFreeYosemite.com. .
